This course is divided into four 9 week periods. Each of the 9 weeks will consist of four units. At the end of each unit there will be a 25 question multiple-choice quiz and a thematic essay. All test questions and essays will be pulled from previous AP European exams. In addition, each student writes one DBQ and complete a period review page. In the fourth quarter students do multimedia closure project following the AP Exam.
This course is taught at the college level. The major difference between a college level history course and a regular high school level history course is the greater amount of reading and the depth of focus that is found in the college level course. Students are required to analyze, synthesize, and evaluate primary and secondary historical sources, in addition to comprehending, memorizing, and applying facts.
